Through Women’s Eyes International Film Festival
February 2023The Through Women's Eyes International Film Festival returns to Sarasota March 9-13, 2023 with 38 films from 13 countries. Now in its 24th year, the festival spotlights fresh voices and reflects a diverse array of experiences by and about global women and the LGBTQ+ community. This year, we offer both virtual screenings and in-person events in flexible packages that allow you to customize your own film festival experience.
This year's films include a gripping look at war in Ukraine, a portrait of the first US women's professional ice hockey league, a triptych of films about our relationship to water (with stunning photography from Senegal, Maine, and Scotland), explorations of aging through the eyes of daughters and granddaughters, the lives of refugees in Belgium and Ireland, children born of mothers who are incarcerated, some very humorous looks at birth control in the modern era, and much more.
Join us in person for the opening night red carpet celebration at Ringling College of Art and Design on Friday, March 10, and the awards ceremony on Saturday, March 11, at Fogartyville Community Media and Arts Center.
Tickets and event passes are now available at the film festival website.
