Fiona will introduce a new purpose-built clinical space designed to better support ongoing community-based research, including the Red Tide project and Department of Defensesponsored studies serving veterans with Gulf War Illness. This new facility replaces the current retrofitted clinic with a more functional and appropriate environment for both patient care and advanced research.
The event will also showcase the launch of a new Cognitive Health Clinic and the innovative Brain Reserve Index (BRI) program. Developed from a strong and growing body of scientific research, the BRI estimates an individual's risk for Alzheimer's disease using comprehensive self-reported history across diet, mental health, physical health, and medical conditions. The program identifies specific areas of vulnerability and provides personalized, evidence-based strategies to reduce risk. Participants can reassess over time to measure improvement, with all recommendations grounded in rigorously validated data.
Following the opening of the new clinic, the existing clinic and auditorium will be renovated to create an enhanced space dedicated to community health education, science programming, and outreach.
This will be a concise event, and Fiona would be delighted to welcome fellow IWF members. We encourage you to attend and support this important advancement in community health and research.
